Magic Happens Katz

The Cheshire Cat !!

Magic Happens Katz is located in Southern Maryland and a member of (TICA) The International Cat Association.

We are a very small loving family hobby breeder of these amazing British Shorthair cats. Our cats come from respected European lines of Grand Champions. We take great pride in our British Cats and love them very much!

If you ask us the British Shorthair breed is the greatest cat to own because they make the best pets. British cats are wonderful with children, being very tolerant and patient. Children love the teddy bear look of the British Blue cat and their round appearance with their chubby cheeked smile!! These cats ARE the Teddy Bears of the cat world. Our British Shorthairs are laid back and have very loyal personalities.  The British Shorthair breed is well known for their loving and affectionate behavior. Our cats are raised in house underfoot around children and other family pets; raising kittens this way insures the kitten's relaxed demeanor towards children, other pets and house guests.

What makes a British Shorthair different from American cats??

Since the British Shorthairs are fairly large with shorter legs they tend to stay pretty grounded and are not much on climbing and acrobats. Although playing chase with a ball will be quit appealing to the British Shorthair these cats are not demanding whatsoever.   The British cat has a very tolerant personality with lots of patience with children. This makes the British cat a great pet for a young child who may be a little ruff and tumble.   The British cat will grin and bear it so to speak…. British Shorthairs are very loyal to their owners. Some might say the British cat is the (Bulldog of the cat world). These cats are somewhat couch potatoes and become very chunky in appearance as they age. The British cat can take up to 3 years to fully mature physically. British Cats are very smart and are easily trained. Many Brit's are used in TV commercials and movies. The movie Pet Cemetery is one example of a British Cat gone movie star!!!! The British Shorthair cat is not destructive whatsoever and can be very easily trained to use a scratching post with a little spray of cat nip. These cats are very easy to live with as they easily adapt to their environment and are great for small apartments and town homes.
